💗Usrah 2 (2nd week) : Intention Only for Allah

Assalamualaikum Everyone! 🌸

Welcome to my Week 2 Usrah reflection. This week, we explored a topic that is simple in words but deep in meaning  “Intention Only for Allah.”  We were reminded about the real reason behind our actions as Muslims.

🎥 About the Talk:

The video by Ustadh Nouman Ali Khan discussed how every act of worship, every good deed, every small effort, even a smile, should be done sincerely for the sake of Allah. It’s easy to forget this in our daily routines, especially when we want others to recognize our efforts or praise us for doing something good. But Allah sees our hearts, and He knows what no one else does.

🌟 Key Lessons I Gained:

1. Purifying Our Intentions

Ustadh Nouman reminded us that sometimes we might do the right things, but for the wrong reasons. We may want attention, respect, or admiration, but none of these are the reasons Allah accepts deeds. What matters most is ikhlas (sincerity). Our goal should be to earn Allah’s pleasure, not people’s approval.

2. The Quiet Power of Hidden Deeds

A truly sincere action is one that you can do even if no one is watching, because you know Allah always is. Sometimes, the most beautiful deeds are the ones that are never seen by others. Whether it’s helping someone in secret or making du’a for someone without them knowing, it all counts, and it all matters.

3. Checking Our Intentions Often

Intentions are not something we check once and then forget. They can change, and we have to renew them often. It’s like resetting our heart, asking ourselves, “Why am I doing this?” And if the answer is not “For Allah,” we try to fix it gently.

🧠 My Reflection:

This topic hit home for me. Sometimes, I realize I do things, joining committees, helping others, even sharing Islamic reminders, but a small part of me still hopes people will notice or say something nice. This week’s lesson reminded me that I have to keep asking Allah to purify my heart. Even if people don’t see what I do, I know that Allah does, and that’s enough.

It also encouraged me to be more mindful. Even before small actions, like giving charity or posting something beneficial, I now try to pause and ask, “Is this really for Allah?” That moment of honesty can change everything.

📌 Final Thought:

The Prophet ﷺ said, “Actions are judged by intentions.” This hadith is well known, but it’s more than just a quote, it’s a lifestyle. When we start doing things only for Allah, life becomes more meaningful. We feel lighter, more connected to our faith, and more at peace with whatever results come.

Let’s make it a habit to start everything with Bismillah and keep our intentions clean. In the end, it’s not about how big our actions are, but how pure our heart is when doing them.

Wassalamu Alaikum warahmatullah 💖
